Recognizing Potential
Each candidate is recommended by someone in their community who recognizes their potential—such as a teacher, counselor, neighbor, or mentor. Recommended students are required to complete an application and provide supporting documents, which are reviewed by the Foundation. Finally, potential recipients are invited for an interview to discuss their goals, challenges, and needs.
If selected as a Super Kid, the Foundation begins a close, hands-on relationship with each student, helping them prepare for life after high school, navigate the college application process, and successfully transition into college or technical school.
We generally begin working with students as they progress through high school, giving us time to support their growth and help them pursue additional scholarships, grants, and post-secondary opportunities. Funding provided directly by the Foundation may be used to cover the costs of education, including but not limited to: tuition, books, housing, meal plans, etc.
